Drawing workshop at Gallery Cosmos
Gallery Cosmos-2 in Mohakhali, Dhaka organised a three-day drawing workshop. The workshop opened on October 15 and ended on October 17.
The workshop was conducted by Jamal Ahmed, Professor, Drawing and Painting Department, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka. Artist Afroza Jamil Konka was the coordinator of the workshop.
Enayetullah Khan, chief editor of United News Bangladesh (UNB) and CEO of Cosmos Group; former lawmaker Anjuman Ara Jamil; senior painters and diplomats of different countries attended the inaugural session of the workshop.
About the workshop, Jamal Ahmed said, “The workshop focused on several drawing techniques. I wanted to establish a proper and methodical system through this workshop. Drawing is one of the key elements in art. It is the basic expression of the thoughts and visions of an artist.”
Participating painters were: Anukul Chandra Majumdar, Sohel Pranon, Jamil Akbar Shamim, Farook Hossain, Ruhul Karim Rumi, Mahbub Alam, Kamaluddin, Bipasha Hayat, Kanak Kumar Pathak, Mohammad Asif Kabir Chowdhury, Sourav Chowdhury, Sadia Sultana Bony, Goutam Chowdhury and Buddha Dev Mondal.
The workshop was supported by Gallery Cosmos and Cosmos-Atelier 71.
