Compressor blast kills two ship workers in Ctg

Two workers were killed and seven others injured as a compressor of a fishing vessel exploded at Sadarghat in Karnaphuli river in Chittagong city yesterday.
The deceased were Moktadir Hossain alias Moktar, 35, and Md Rubel, 35.
Nur Alam, one of the injured in the incident, said the compressor of "MV Fish Mark 1" burst out while they were repairing it around 11:30am, killing Moktar on the spot.
The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where doctors declared Rubel dead.
Three of the injured were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, CMCH sources said.
Police said the reason behind explosion could not be known immediately.
Despite repeated attempts, owners of the ship could not be reached.
