Two killed in Iraq attacks
Shootings and bomb attacks in and around Iraq's main northern city yesterday killed two people, including a soldier, and wounded four others, security and medical officials said.
In a Kurdish-majority neighbourhood in the east of Mosul, a civilian was killed in a drive-by shooting, according to Iraqi army Lieutenant Khaled Hamed and doctor Mahmud Haddad at the city's main hospital.
It was not immediately clear why the man was gunned down.
South of Mosul in the town of Qaiyarah, a soldier was killed and two others were wounded by a roadside bomb that appeared to be targeting an army patrol, Hamed and Haddad said.
