Publication ceremony of poetry book by Aminul Islam
The publication ceremony of the first poetry book “Juddho diye Jatra” written by poet Aminul Islam was held at Padma Rongo Mancha in Rajshahi city on Friday night.
Rajshahi Sangskritik Shangha, Kobikunja Rajshahi and the publishing house of the book Palok Publishers jointly organised the ceremony that drew a number of eminent personalities from Rajshahi and Dhaka to review the book.
Eminent litterateur Hasan Azizul Haque unveiled the cover of the book. He described the book as a new trend in modern poetry.
He said poet Aminul dwells in a different world and his poetry would awaken inner emotions and help in people developing their intellect.
Rajshahi mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton said most of the verses of the book were composed during the 53-year old poet's younger days and these would encourage the present day youth in promoting their social and political values.
Lawmaker Fazle Hossain Badsha termed the book as an attempt to revive the decaying political and moral values of society. He said the book would strengthen the ideology of the Liberation War to build a secular society free from economic disparities.
Celebrated reciter Shimul Mustafa, Dr. Joydev Bhaduri and Monira Rahman Mithi recited from the book during the function.
Poet Aminul Islam who is currently serving as specialist (media) at Fisheries and Livestock Information Services shared his overwhelming experience in bringing out the book. He said his aim was to disseminate his ideas to the new generation through poetry.
Among others, Poet Bimol Guha, publisher Forkan Ahmed, deputy director general of Bangladesh Television Faridur Rahman, Dilip Barua, president of Bangladesh Solar and Renewable Energy Association, Kobikunja Rajshahi President Ruhul Amin Pramanik, and councilor Abdul Hamid Sarker attended the function.
Amiruzzaman, vice president of Rajshahi Sangskritik Shangha presided over the ceremony while Rony moderated it.
