2nd win for Brothers
Cricket's fallen giants Brothers Union chalked up a four-wicket victory over Young Pegasus B in the First Division Cricket League at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Batsman Kamrul Islam struck an unbeaten 60 as the Gopibagh-based club took only 40.4 overs to knock off the target of 163 runs, after Young Pegasus B were bowled out for 162 runs in 49.1 overs.
In Savar, Khelaghar managed their third win in a row with a sneaky single wicket victory over Dhaka Mariners Youngs Club. Batting first after calling correctly, Mariners scored 103-8 in 20 overs of a rain-reduced match. Khaled (27) and Sakib (23) contributed while it was Ahsanul's 3-10 that setup Khelaghar's win.
Khelaghar won off the final ball of the match as they reached 104-9 with Bulbul scoring 28.
In the other matches, Dhaka Wanderers Club (147-5 in 30.1 overs) beat Agrani Bank (146 all out in 39.4 overs) by five wickets at the Jahangirnagar University ground and at the Dhaka University ground, Bangladesh Boys (192-9 in 45 overs) beat Azad Sporting Club (165 all out in 41.2 overs) by 27 runs.
The match between Lalmatia Club and Orient Sporting Club was called off due to rain.
