UP member murdered

A union parishad (UP) member was murdered in Sadar upazila yesterday afternoon. The deceased is Iqbal Hossain, 32, a member of no. 7 ward in Baghil union. A gang stabbed Iqbal with sharp weapons at around 4:00pm near Baghil Bazar and left him at a nearby paddy field, locals said. Later he was rushed to the Tangail General Hospital where he died at about 5.00pm. The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.
