Court order on Hasina's bail prayer today
A special court will deliver its order today on former premier Sheikh Hasina's bail prayer in the Tk 3 crore barge-mount power plant corruption case.
The hearing on charge framing against Hasina and seven others in the case also resumes today.
The court deferred the hearing on February 19 as detained former power and energy secretary and one of the accused, Toufiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, was not produced before the court.
The former secretary was shown arrested in another case after he was granted bail in the barge-mount power plant case and secured release order.
The court earlier deferred the hearing on charge-framing three times. The first deferment followed a time petition from the defence and the second time the prosecution sought time.
The court delayed the hearing for the third time as Hasina could not be produced before the court due to illness.
Special Court-1 Judge Firoz Alam set February 19 for the court decision after Hasina's counsels filed a petition for bail on February 13.
