Tribute to two icons
A three-day long art exhibition titled “Path”, a tribute to filmmaker Tareque Masud and cinematographer-journalist Mishuk Munier, ended on Sunday at the Shilpakala Academy gallery in the port city.
The exhibition was organised by Yapri, an art initiative group. At the inaugural session, artists and teachers of the Institute of Fine Arts, Chittagong University Dhali Al Mamun, Dilara Begum Jolly, Nasima Akter, Kajol Deb Nath and Alok Roy, whose works were on display, were present among others.
At the exhibition a video art work directed by Tareque Masud and photographed by Mishuk Munier was shown. All of the art works featured the chaotic condition of our transport system and apathy of the administration.
About 35 artworks were on display at the exhibition. Participating artists had used different mediums including acrylic, oil, and mixed media in their paintings. Various sculptures, installations, and video art were also exhibited.
Artists who participated in the exhibition were Razib Dutta, Maherun Akter Shumi, Saem Mahamud, Kingshuk Dash, Faraha Naz Moon, Arup Barua, Sohorab Jahan,Palash Chowdhury and Sonjoy Chakraborty.
