Funeral of Bomang Raja Aug 24

The funeral of Bomang Raja Aungshoi Prue Chowdhury will be held in the Rajbari compound in the town on August 24, royal family sources said.
The body will be kept there for hill people to pay their last respect to the chief of Bomang Circle, the sources added.
Raja Aungshoi Prue Chowdhury passed away at his palace due to old-age complications on Wednesday morning. He was 98.
The royal family and people in hills have been reeling with profound shock at the death of their oldest king.
Hearing the news of his death, people from all walks of life thronged the Bomang palace on Wednesday to have a glance of the deceased.
Aungshoi Prue was the fifteenth King of the Bomang Circle. The next chief of the Circle has not been declared yet. The Raja is usually nominated from the royal family on the basis of seniority.
During the regime of Ziaur Rahman, Aungshoi Prue had served as a state minister for food.
