Three police impersonators held

Police yesterday arrested three persons with fake pistol as they tried to mug a beauty parlour employee in the guise of detectives in the capital's Gulshan area.
The arrestees are Shamsul Haque alias Babu alias Sagar, 28, Milon Hossain, 28, and Anwar Hossain alias Nayan, 30.
Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station, said introducing themselves as DB police, a gang of seven criminals put Habibur Rahman, a beauty parlour employee, into a microbus after he exited a bank.
“They blindfolded Habibur and demanded money from him at gunpoint,” he said adding that when the victim cried for help, police deployed in the area came forward and detained three of the criminals.
Rafiqul said the detained confessed their crimes.
