Fed Shield in three venues

The Federation Shield, qualifying tournament for the Federation Cup, will be held in three separate venues in Chittagong, Sylhet and Faridpur.
Some 18 teams from universities, second-tier professional clubs and services are expected to take part in the Federation Shield, which is being introduced for the first time.
“Five to six teams, split into two groups, will take part in each of the three venues and finalists of all three venues will qualify for the Federation Cup,” said BFF's acting general secretary Abu Nayeem adding that each of the venue champions will be awarded shields.
The BFF invited five teams of Bangladesh Championship League, six universities and four services teams and Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Institute. Besides, one local team will be included in all three venues.
So far seven teams -- BKSP, Navy, Uttar Baridhara Club, Beanibazar, Agrani Bank, Police and BUET -- confirmed their participation in the tournament, which is likely to be deferred by a week. The Federation Shield is supposed to get underway from August 30.
