Criminals abduct teacher

Criminals abducted a schoolteacher from his home at Noddapara village in Madhyanagar upazila of Sunamganj district early yesterday.
Victim Chandan Sarker is a mathematics teacher at Ramdigha High School.
Family sources said a gang of 10/12 stormed into the residence of the schoolteacher at about 2:30am and picked him up at gunpoint after beating the family members.
Victim's wife Archana Sarker said the incident occurred when they were asleep.
The gang entered the house by breaking open the door, she said.
A case was filed with Madhyanagar police station in this connection.
The reason behind the kidnapping could not be known immediately, said Mizamul Haque, officer in-charge of the PS.
The schoolteacher was not rescued till filing of this report at 6:00pm yesterday.
