Rickshaw puller injured by stray bullet in capital
A rickshaw puller sustained injury by a stray bullet when he was waiting in a traffic jam in the capital's Shantinagar area yesterday.
The victim Kamal Babu, 35, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Kamal told journalists at the DMCH that something hit his throat when was stuck in a traffic jam on a narrow lane behind Eastern Plaza shopping complex around 11:00am.
Some young men engaged in a scuffle with a private car driver. Suddenly, a sound of firing was heard, he said.
Golam Sarwar, officer-in-charge at Paltan Police Station, said they suspect that the young men fired the gunshot following the scuffle, and it hit Kamal's throat.
