Bangladesh Football Federation yesterday announced a 32-member preliminary squad for the 2nd SAFF Women's Football Championship which will be held in Sri Lanka from September 7 to 16.
The selected players have been requested to report to coach Golam Rabbani Choton on July 31 at the BFF House for the residential camp.
The preliminary squad includes four goalkeepers, 12 defenders, 10 midfielders and six forwards.
In another move, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) increased Bangladesh's quota of FIFA referees and assistant referees to five and seven respectively following satisfactory performance of Bangladesh's referees. Bangladesh earlier had four FIFA referees and six FIFA assistant referees.
Besides, referee Nazmul Huda, who took part in the recently concluded AFC U-14 Festival in Nepal, has been awarded AFC diploma under the Futuro-2012 course and the diploma ensured Huda can participate in more refereeing courses under AFC in the next two years.
Referees Jalal Uddin and Bhuban Mohan Tarafdar were earlier awarded the AFC diploma in 2007 and both of them are currently engaged in the professional football league.
