'Mugger' killed in 'gunfight' with Rab

A 28-year-old man was killed in a “shoot-out” with Rab in the capital last night.
According to police, the victim identified as Mohammad Sumon was accused in arms and mugging cases with Pallabi Police Station.
Mohammad Ayub, additional police superintendent deployed at Rab-4, said a gunfight broke out between four muggers riding two motorbikes and a Rab patrol team on Dhaka Zoo Road around 9:00pm.
After the shoot-tout, the Rab personnel found bullet-hit Sumon lying dead on the ground. Other muggers, however, had managed to flee, Ayub added.
The Rab officials said they had recovered a motorbike, a revolver with two bullets and a mugged laptop from the spot.
