Indefinite transport strike in Sherpur

Road communication between the district and other parts of the country remained suspended yesterday due to an indefinite transport strike called by local transport union from Tuesday midnight.
Sherpur District Bus-coach Owners' Association and District Road Transport Workers' Union jointly called the strike protesting manhandling of some local transport workers by transport workers of Mymensingh.
Local transport leaders said some local transport workers were beaten by transport workers of Mymensingh on Tuesday afternoon.
Local transport leaders called the strike, demanding punishment of the attackers.
Sanwar Hossain Sanu, president of local Bus-Coach Owners' Association, said that through loudhailers they informed local people of the strike on Tuesday night.
The strike caused immense troubles to the commuters.
