Eateries, pharmacy fined

A mobile court fined six businesses Tk 70,000 on different charges in Oxygen area of Chittagong city yesterday.
The court fined three eateries-Bismillah Hotel and Restaurant, Bagdad Foods, and Khawja Hotel- Tk 10,000, Tk 25,000 and Tk 5,000 respectively for preparing and selling food in an unhygienic environment.
Two food shops-Ekota Cooling Corner and Fulkoli- were fined Tk 15,000 and Tk 10,000 for selling date expired food items and deceiving customers through weighing machine respectively.
A pharmacy was also fined Tk 5, 000 for selling medicines at higher prices.
