4 killed, 23 hurt in road crashes

Four people were killed and twenty three others injured in separate road accidents in Narayanganj, Tangail and Manikganj yesterday.
Our Narayanganj correspondent reports, Lutfunnesa, 60, wife of former BNP lawmaker Md Yunus Ali, died and three others got injured as a truck hit their car from the opposite direction at Adhuria in Rupganj upazila around 3:30pm yesterday.
Injured -- the lawmaker Yunus, his brother-in-law Shahidul Islam, 25, and the car driver Sujan, 35 -- were admitted to a local hospital.
In Tangail, two women were killed and 10 others injured in a bus-truck collision on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Achhimtola area of Mirzapur upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased are Sultana Begum, 40, wife of Shanta Khan of Tangail sadar upazila, and Anu Begum, 45, wife of Abdul Aziz of Madhupur upazila.
The injured were admitted to different local hospitals.
In Manikganj, truck helper Sohel Rana, 28, was killed and 10 others injured when the truck collided head-on with a bus on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Tepra bus stand area of Shivalaya upazila yesterday.
Five of the injured were admitted to Shivalaya Upazila Health Complex.
