6 killed in road crashes
Six people were killed and 11 others injured in road accidents in Chapainawabganj, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Jessore and Natore yesterday.

In an incident, a man was killed when a bus hit him in Tiger Pass Circle area in Chittagong city early yesterday.
Pradip Barua, 55, of Chandanaish upzilla of Chittagong, was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
In another incident, motorcyclist Akter Sahed, 29, was killed as his motorcycle skidded off the road while he was crossing a rail line in front of Padma Oil Depot in Chittagong yesterday.
Seriously injured Sahed was rushed to Bangladesh Navy Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports, a man was killed and 10 others were injured as a train hit a Bhutbhuti [an engine-run vehicle] at Mokrompur level crossing in Gomostapur upazila in Chapainawabganj yesterday.
The deceased was Kabirul Islam, 35.
Police said the accident occurred when a train hit the vehicle carrying a bridal party killing its driver Kabirul on the spot and injuring 10 others around 12:30pm.
Staff Correspondent from Rajshahi reports, a nursing student was killed and another was injured in a road accident at Kharkhari area in Rajshahi city yesterday.
The deceased was Shamima Khatun, 18, a student of Shah Makhdum Diploma Nursing Institute, and the injured was Akhi Khatun, 18, also a student of the institute.
Police said the accident took place when a human-hauler hit them killing Shamima on the spot and injuring Akhi severely around 3:00pm.
Our Benapole Correspondent reports, a boy was killed in a road accident in Tapsidanga area in Jessore yesterday.
The victim was Plabon, 7, son of Aktaruzaman of Tapsidanga village.
Police said the accident took place when a three wheeler hit Plabon killing him on the spot around 9:00 am.
Our Natore correspondent reports, a schoolboy was killed when a CNG-run auto rickshaw hit him in Kaliganj area in Singra upazila yesterday.
Sakib Al Hasan, 6, son of Ansar Ali of village in the upazila, died instantly.
Later, agitated locals people put barricade on the Kaliganj-Nandigram road for three hours.
