7 killed, 14 injured in road accidents
Seven people were killed and 14 others injured in road accidents in Chittagong, Brahmanbaria, Jessore and Netrakona yesterday.
Our Chittagong correspondent reports, two people were killed and 10 others injured as a microbus collided with a covered van on Shah Amanat Airport road in Chittagong yesterday.
The deceased were Shah Alam, 50, and Md Rubel, 20.
Police said the accident took place in front of Meghna Petroleum Depot killing Shah Alam on the spot and injuring 11 others around 5:30am.
The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where Rubel succumbed to his injury.
Our Brahmanbaria correspondent reports, three people were killed and four others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Ashuganj upazila yesterday.
The deceased were Abul Hossain, 58, and Lilu Mia, 30, Nannu Mia, 47.
Our Benapole correspondent reports, an old woman was killed as she fell from a three-wheeler at Dattarasta in Bagharpara upazila in Jessore yesterday.
The victim was Shiba Rani, 60, wife of Dilip Das of Deyara village in the upazila.
Locals rushed her to Bagharpara Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared her dead.
BSS reports from Netrakona, Kamrul Islam Khan, president of Bangladesh Chaatra League (BCL) Netrakona Govt College unit, was killed in a road accident in Hironpur area on Netrakona- Mymensingh highway yesterday.
Police said the accident took place when Kamrul was traveling to Netrakona from Mymensingh on a motorcycle. His motor cycle collided head-on with a pick-up van in the area killing him on the spot.
