Arrest of killers demanded

After the end of a three-day agitation on Monday, local organisations will launch fresh programmes today demanding arrest of killers of a journalist who was hacked to death on July 10 in Sylhet.
Journalist organisations including Jatiya Press Club also demanded arrest of the culprits.
On the night of July 10, Junaid Ahmed, a reporter of local newspaper Daily Bibiana and general secretary of Gazipur union Jubo Dal, phoned a former UP member saying he would be staying in Baidyer Bazar area and that was the last anyone heard from him, said family members.
The following day his body was found in pieces on the railway at Shaistaganj Junction Station and his family was informed.
Today a protest rally and human chain are scheduled at noon at Fultoli on Dhaka-Sylhet highway demanding immediate arrest and exemplary punishment to the killers.
An unnatural death case had been filed with Srimangal Railway Police Station in this connection.
