VoIP equipment seized in Ctg

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-7) seized VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) equipment worth about Tk 15 lakh and arrested one person in this connection in Chittagong city yesterday.
The arrestee is Sarwar Hossain, 26, hailing from Chhagalnaiya upazila in Feni.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-7 led by Lt Col Nur Zaman conducted a drive at a flat on the fifth floor of 'Shimla House', a residential building in the city's Choumohoni Mazar Gate area, around 5:00pm and seized the VoIP equipment, two computers, 500 SIM cards and Tk 33,000.
“Talking with the owner of the residential building, we came to know that the arrestee rented the house one month ago and was running illegal VoIP business”, said Lt Col Nur Zaman.
