Human chain demands arrest of Bipul's killer
Students, teachers and employees of Hajee Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) yesterday formed a human chain, demanding arrest of Mrinal Goswami, the prime accused in Bipul murder case.
The hour-long human chain, formed in front of Dinajpur Press Club in the morning, was also joined by the parents of the students.
Professor M Afzal Hossain, vice chancellor, Dr Boloram Roy, registrar (Acting), ATM Safiqul Islam, student adviser and Dr Shahadat Hossain Khan, chief of Soil Science department, were present among the teachers.
At the human chain, the teachers alleged that the HSTU authorities filed a case on the day after the murder of Fahim Mahfuz Bipul on June 9. But the police are yet to arrest the prime accused.
Vice Chancellor M Afzal Hossain told the human chain that although the culprit who killed Bipul was already identified, but mysteriously police are yet to arrest the accused.
Md Fahfuzur Rahman, father of Bipul, alleged that his son was murdered in broad daylight in front of HSTU by a class four employee of the same university.
After the murder, he had mysteriously vanished, and still at large, he said.
According to police, they already arrested two accused in the case and were trying hard to nab the prime accused.
Fahim Mafhuz Bipul 23, a final year student of Veterinary Science, was attacked by a gang, allegedly led by Mrinal Goswami, on June 9.
Critically injured, Bipul later succumbed at Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital in the afternoon.
