Ten injured as train hits bus

At least ten people were injured as a train hit a coach at the rail crossing point near Rajarhat Railway Station in Rajarhat upazila yesterday, thanks to absence of railway crossing gate on the spot.
The injured, the bus passengers, were rushed to Rajarhat Upazila Health Complex.
Police and locals said a Ramna-Teesta mail train rammed a Dhaka-bound day coach, Mollah Paribahan, at the point around 9:50am, while the train was coming to the station from Kurigram Railway Station.
The coach was crossing the railway lines.
Police said the accident occurred as there is no gateman system there.
Asadul Haq, divisional engineer of Lalmonirhat Railway Division, told The Daily Star as gateman was not appointed since long, they could not set up railway crossing gate at the point.
