Shaheed Rafiq Smriti Pathagar, a library in memory of Language Martyr Rafique Uddin Ahmed, celebrated its seventh anniversary with a discussion, cultural function, film screening, rally and 'fanush' festival in Manikganj recently.
The daylong programme began with a discussion on 'Role of young organisers and youth organisations in present times' at the Captain Abdul Halim Chowdhury Auditorium.
Atia Ferdausy Choiti, president of Shahid Rafique Smriti Pathagar, presided over the discussion where Professor and writer Anu Mohammad of Jahangirnagar University, and cultural personality and singer Krishnakali Islam were the discussants.
Later, the film “Phirey Esho Behula” directed by Tanim Nur, was screened at the auditorium. A cultural function followed. Krishnakali Islam rendered her songs; local artistes performed dances, rendered songs and recited poetry.
Later, a rally was brought out from the auditorium premises. Hundreds of people including the members of the organisation took part in the rally.
