Power price hike for factories protested
The Workers Party of Bangladesh has demanded withdrawal of the Energy Regulatory Commission's recent decision of providing electricity to mills and factories at 2.5 times the current price.
The decision is very unfair and against public interests, as the government will have to provide non-stop electricity for dedicated lines, leaving people more power-starved, a press release of the left-leaning party said on Tuesday.
Moreover the decision will come to the aid of only a handful of mills and factories, resulting in price hike of industrial products and making people the ultimate sufferers.
