Lightning kills 4, injures 6 in three districts

Lightning killed four people in Madaripur, Mymensingh and Nilphamari districts yesterday and on Sunday.
A pregnant housewife was killed by lightning at Thantoli village under Sadar upazila of Madaripur yesterday afternoon, reports our correspondent.
The victim was identified as Dalia Aktar, 28, wife of Rakib Matbor of the village.
Masud Hossain Khan, sub-inspector (SI) of Madaripur sadar police station said Dalia was struck by lightning while she was waiting beside a road for bus at around 12:00pm. She died on the spot.
In Mymensingh, a woman and her daughter were killed by lightning at Dhalia Badepurua village in Bhaluka upazila yesterday noon.
The victims were identified as Baby Sultana, 35, wife of Suruj Khan and their daughter Shamima Sultana, 14, of the village, reports our correspondent.
Police and family sources said, Baby and Shamima were working in their courtyard during rain. Suddenly they were hit by a thunderbolt and killed on the spot.
In another incident yesterday, a girl child was injured critically by thunderbolt at village Kathali in Bhaluka at noon.
The girl was identified as Papiya, 10, daughter of Idris Ali of the village.
She was admitted to Bhaluka upazila health complex, police said.
In Nilphamari, a man was killed and five people were injured as lightning struck them in Dimla upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Helal Uddin, 45, of Uttar Sundarkhata village in the upazila, reports UNB.
Witnesses said Helal, his daughter Hira, 12, and Sufia Begum, 40, wife of Moyez Uddin, Rupali Begum, 35, wife of Abdur Rauf, Momina Begum, 20, daughter of Nur Islam, and Manju, 40, of nearby Ruphara village were injured in separate lightning strikes in the early hours.
Helal succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
The injured were admitted to the upazila health complex.
