2,000 litres of liquor seized

Police seized 2,000 litres of locally-made contraband liquor worth around Tk 8 lakh and arrested two men in Patiya upazila on Tuesday night.
Khairul Bashar, 30, son of Bachcha Mia and Habibur, 20, son of Khayer Ahmed, both from Boalkhali upazila, were arrested with a pickup van used for transporting the liquor.
On a tip, a team of Patiya Police Station found the vehicle in front of Khaja Pharmacy in Uttar Sobua area around 10:30pm, said Assistant Sub-inspector Rekha Prova Dey.
A case has been filed in this connection.
