Autocracy resistance day today

Different organisations will observe today the Swairashashok Protirodh Dibash (autocracy resistance day), a day when students revolted against the autocratic government in 1983.
On this day in 1983, a truck crushed students like Jafar, Joynal and Dipali under its wheels as per the directive of the then autocratic government .
BCL will place wreath at the memorial square in front of the Shikkha Bhaban at 9:00am. Moddho February Smriti Sangrakkhan Parishad organises a get-together of former student leaders in front of the High Court at 8.00am.
Chhatra Federation and Gonotantrik Baam Morcha will also observe the day.
Meanwhile, BCL, Bangladesh Chhatra Union and Samajtantrik Chhatra Front yesterday observed the death anniversary of Roufun Bosuniya, who was killed in the anti-Ershad student upsurge in 1983.
