Say no to graft

Law Minister Shafique Ahmed yesterday called upon the land registration officials to shun corruption by saying no to the social vice.
“We have to make a corruption-free society like the present government wants”, he said at the installation ceremony of the new committee of Bangladesh Registration Service Association.
Role of the registration department is essential in collecting revenue, he said, adding that a slip by land registration officials inflicted loss on the government and sufferings on people.
Saying that many cases emerge from land related dispute, the law minister urged the land registration officials to discharge their duties carefully.
He suggested the land registration officials look into the matter so that people do not face cases unnecessarily and are not deprived of getting their due services.
State Minister for Law Quamrul Islam also addressed the function held at Public Works Bhaban auditorium in the capital.
