Journos whimsical, irrational: RU VC

Rajshahi University correspondents are whimsical, irrational and always report on the negative aspects of the university, alleged Vice Chancellor Prof Abdus Sobhan on Sunday.
Nowadays journalists in the country can be bought off, he said before distributing prizes among meritorious students and talented athletes of Bangabandhu Hall.
“Newsmen always highlight the negative aspects of the present government though they began enjoying full freedom after the Awami League-led government came to power.
“But they do not write negative reports when the BNP comes to power,” said Prof Sobhan.
Afterwards when he asked the students present at the programme to remain honest in their professional life, the students raised their voice in protest, alleging that the university authorities themselves are corrupt.
In response, the VC said his advice was meant not only for the students but for all quarters of the university.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammad Nurullah and Treasurer Abdur Rahman were present at the programme.
