PM's assurance a mockery

Bangladesh Nationalists Party (BNP) Chittagong city unit President Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury yesterday termed Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina's announcement, at the March 28 grand rally, to take responsibility of the port city's development a mockery.
The PM is making such an announcement at the last hour, showing that the government did nothing for the port city in the last three years in power, he told journalists at Chittagong Press Club.
BNP Chittagong city unit organised the press conference to express its view on the March 28 grand rally of the Grand Alliance at the city's Pologround.
Amir Khasru also said all the PM did for Chittagong was to present a lot of digital banners at the March 28 grand rally as part of her publicity of digital Bangladesh.
He alleged that the port city is gradually turning unfit for living as the Awami League backed government is doing no work for this city's development.
BNP Chittagong city unit General Secretary Shahadat Hossain and Vice-President Shamsul Alam, former Whip Syed Wahidul Alam and former MP Begum Roji Kabir also attended the conference.
