Three killed, 55 injured in road accidents
Three people were killed and 55 others injured in separate road accidents in Chittagong and Brahmanbaria yesterday.
Our Chittagong correspondent reports: Two persons were killed and three others injured as a truck rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway at Noyduari in Mirsarai upazila at around 6:30am yesterday.
The deceased are Narayan Chandra Daldash, 35, and Bhola Chandra Das, 40.
Injured Kajali Kanti Das, 25, Baja Gopal Das, 40, and Nurul Mostafa, 35, were undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
In another incident, Shakil Ahmed, 25, died instantly and two others were injured as a microbus fell into a ditch beside Chakaria-Cox's Bazar highway at Malumghat in Chakaria upazila at around 4:30am yesterday.
Injured Mohammed Palash, 26, and Mohammed Masud, 27, hailing from Mohammadpur area in Dhaka, were rushed to CMCH.
In Brahmanbaria, a bus fell into a ditch beside Akhaura Land Port Road at Chinair village turning point in the sadar upazila at about 5:30pm yesterday, leaving at least its 50 passengers injured.
The injured alleged that the accident occurred due to reckless driving of the driver as he was turning the point with high speed.
The injured were taken to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital and local clinics.
