Jimmy sparkles again

Russel Mahmud Jimmy continued with his superb form as Mohammedan confirmed their semifinals berth in the Independence Day Hockey Tournament. The national forward followed up his six goals in the first match with five more in this one, as the Black and Whites beat Bangladesh Army 6-0 at the Maulana Bhasani Stadium yesterday to emerge group champions.
Jimmy scored in the 10th, 11th and 35th minute to take Mohammedan to a 3-0 lead into the break. Jimmy scored two more goals in the second half while Rimon Kumar scored the other as Mohammedan sailed to a 6-0 victory and into the semifinals.
Despite the defeat, Army moved to the semifinals as group runners up. Mohammedan will meet Bangladesh Air Force in the semifinal while Army will play against Usha Krira Chakra.
