Prisoner 'commits suicide' in Ctg

An under-trial prisoner allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ventilator of a bathroom in Chittagong Central Jail early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Yasin Ali, 25, of Murad Nagar in Hathazari upazila of Chittagong.
Deputy Jailer Nur Mohammad Sohel said Yasin tried to commit suicide by hanging himself with a rope from the ventilator of the ward bathroom at around 4:15am.
Hearing the groan coming out of the bathroom, a prison ward security personnel broke open the door and found him hanging from the ventilator. The prisoner was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared him dead after half an hour.
