Garment factory, 8 eateries fined in Ctg

Mobile courts in separate drives fined a garment factory, eight eateries and two shops in the port city yesterday.
A mobile court, led by Executive Magistrate of Chittagong AKM Rezaur Rahman, fined Premier Style Ltd Tk 60,000 and cut off the gas connection to the factory for tampering with gas meter and using two drier illegally.
In another drive of the court, two eateries on Ice Factory Road and Station Road were fined Tk 10,000 and 5,000 and their gas connection was cut off for tampering with gas meters.
Another mobile court, led by the Deputy Secretary of commerce ministry and Executive Magistrate of Chittagong Jobair Ahmed, conducted drive in Kodomtoli DT Road area and fined six eateries and two shops, said a press release.
The court fined Alam Hotel and Ms Alim Prio Foods Tk 25 thousand each, Allahar Dan Tk 20 thousand, Shah Paran Hotel Tk 25 thousand, Fulel Foods Tk 10 thousand, and Samata Resturaunt Tk 20 thousand for cooking and processing food in unhygienic way.
It also fined the shops--Azam Store, and Nur Amin and Sons --Tk 10,000 each for not having production and expiration date on the packet of the products.
