Joy blames BNP for encouraging extremism
Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son and adviser of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, yesterday accused the main opposition BNP of encouraging extremist views and creating conditions of terror.
Speaking at a conclave at New Delhi, India, he said Bangladesh has made a remarkable turnaround since Awami League was voted to power in 2009 and added that "as far as I am concerned, we will never allow the lives of our people to be taken away."
India Today magazine organised the discussion styled "Is Dynasty a Burden or a Boon".
Joy also attended a commemorative function in memory of his grandfather Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman held at the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi.
