Wasa pipeline cracks in Ctg
Around half a kilometre of Siraj-ud-Doulah road at Chandanpura of the port city was submerged yesterday as an underground pipeline of Chittagong Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (C'Wasa) cracked down.
The incident took place at around 12:45pm and continued for three hours.
Local people said two workers of C'Wasa worked in a pipeline in the area and left the place just 10 minutes before the incident.
Rubel Ahmed, a resident of the area, said they informed the authorities concerned for several times of the incident but they did not visit the spot till 4:00pm.
C'Wasa Chief Engineer Md Abdul Karim Chowdhury could not be contacted as his mobile phone set remained switched off.
