Street theatre fest in Sunamganj ends
A three-day street theatre fest with the theme, 'Sunamganj Proscenium Pathanatok Uthsab-2012' concluded on March 11 in the district town of Sunamganj. The event drew a good number of spectators every day.
To observe the 9th anniversary of the theatre group, Sunamganj Proscenium, the event was held at the Sunamganj Municipality intersection.
Prosenium chief Sadiqur Rahman chaired the inaugural function on Friday, while veteran dramatist Sukumar Das and Satyaranjan Talukder; adviser Shergul Ahmed; Rabindra Sangeet Sammilan Parishad's local unit president Prodip Paul Nitai and theatre activist Anish Talukder addressed the audience.
Seven theatre groups of the Sylhet division performed at the event. Naboshikha Natya Dal staged “Janoni Birangona” while Digonto Theatre staged “Modhupur Thana”. Theatre Bangla was on the stage with “Ronger Manush” and Nandik Natya Dal staged “Mora”. Besides, Beanibazar Sangskritik Command staged “Antar Baul”, Nagar Nat staged “Kala Mahut” and Sunamganj Proscenium staged “Bold Out” and “Trunk”.
