SSKOP expresses resentment
Sangbadik-Sramik-Karmachari Oikya Parishad (SSKOP), an organisation of journalists, employees and workers of newspaper industry, expressed resentment and condemnation as circular of the gazette notification of formation of the Eighth Wage Board was yet to be published.
At a meeting at Jatiya Press Club in the city, leaders of the parishad said the information minister deceived the newspapermen by not forming the wage board despite announcing formation of the Eighth Wage Board in an official handout of the information ministry in the first week of February, said a press release.
Demanding resignation of information minister, they announced work abstention at newspapers, news agencies and mass media from 10:00am to 1:00pm on March 28 and a rally at the press club.
An extended meeting of the journalists' unions, press worker and employee federations will be held on March 22.
The parishad's co-convener Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury presided over the programme.
