<i>Oops!</i>
Call it a slip-up or a blunder. But it was a hilarious moment for a crowd at yesterday's grand rally organised by the BNP and its allies. A political leader in his speech mistakenly branded Khaleda Zia as a Tilak-wearing chief minister whom he does not want to see in power anymore. The remark was intended for Khaleda's political foe Sheikh Hasina, the prime minister.
"In this month of independence, we don't want to see Tilak-wearing Chief Minister Khaleda Zia in power for a single moment," Shafiul Alam Pradhan, chairman of Jatiya Ganatantrik Party, said addressing the rally.
In Hinduism, Tilak is a mark worn on the forehead and symbolises the third eye.
Khaleda, who was sitting on the dais as chief guest, right away gestured for Pradhan to say what he had actually meant to say.
The video clip of the incident immediately went viral on different social media sites like Facebook.
