10 Hizb-ut-Tahrir men remanded
Ten members of the banned outfit Hizb-ut-Tahrir were placed on a two-day remand each yesterday in a case on charge of creating anarchy across the country.
Metropolitan Magistrate MA Salam ordered the remand after Sub-Inspector (SI) Motlubur Rahman, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, produced them to the court with a seven-day remand prayer for interrogation.
The detainees are Zayeem Abdullah, his brother Nayeem Abdullah, Robin Miah, Sohel Rana, Parvez Sikder, Towfiq Ashraf, Zahid Hasan, Mahmudul Alam Anik, Nurul Amin Emon and Tanveer Hossain.
In the forwarding report, Motlubur said the arrestees were involved with creating anarchy across the country. So, they need to be remanded to find out whereabouts of their accomplices who were also involved with the activities, he said.
Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested them during a raid near IPH Jam-e-Mosque at Mohakhali in the city on Saturday.
