Politics calls for new leadership
The country needs new leaders to change the existing scenario of unfair politics while senior ones should advise them properly, speakers said at a roundtable here yesterday.
Political and cultural prosperity will come through new leadership, they said.
The discussion, “Expectation from politicians for positive change of political culture and our responsibilities”, was organised by National Dialogue Foundation at the Shilpakala Academy.
Chittagong University Teachers' Association (Cuta) general secretary Ali Azgar Chowdhury said, “Teachers' politics at public universities is fairer than in any other political sector of the country.
"But those who are trying to be vice chancellors by using politics are corrupting the political environment”.
NDF chairman Qazi Sanwar Ahmed presided over the programme and executive director Mohammed Yusuf presented the keynote paper.
Prothom Alo associate editor Bishawjit Chowdhury and Chittagong city ward councillor Rekha Alam Chowdhury, among others, spoke on the occasion.
