Akram meets the premier
The Akram Khan saga received a new twist last night as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina invited the former chief selector to her residence to learn about the problems that led to his resignation.
When contacted, Akram said, “Yes, the prime minister called me and I feel greatly honoured for the privilege. She wanted to know all the details. She told me that I should not resign and urged me to continue in my job.”
According to Akram, the prime minister also asked about the problems regarding the cricketers not being allowed to be councillors with the BCB following an amendment to the board's constitution recently and asked him to arrange a meeting with the cricketers.
