Police recovered the body of an elderly man who was found with a noose around his neck tied to a tree near his house at East Bakkhali village in Sitakunda upazila yesterday.
It was not known how Nabab Ali, 65, died. Police suspect the incident to be a suicide. Ali's body was not hanging from the tree.
On information from locals, police recovered the body and sent it to Chittagong Medical College for autopsy, said Golam Faruk Bhuiyan, sub-inspector, Sitakunda Police Station.
An unnatural death case was filed in this connection, he added.
