Nominations invited
D.Net, country partner of mBillionth Award South Asia, invites entrepreneurs and organisations to submit nominations of projects or programmes for the award of the year 2012 by March 30.
The award, launched by Digital Empowerment Foundation in 2010, aims to explore and highlight the best success points of mobile contents and services and make it a tool for empowerment, knowledge and development.
The nomination categories are -- m-Education & Learning, m-Health, m-Travel & Tourism, m-News & Journalism, m-Culture & Heritage, m-Environment, m-Entertainment, m-Inclusion, m-Governance, m-Infrastructure and m-Business & Commerce/ Banking.
One can visit http:// mbillionth.in/ and register by filling up the first phase of the nomination form.
The award, the first-of-its-kind in the region, honours excellence in mobile communication across South Asia, aiming to recognise innovations and creativity in mobile and telecom solutions.
It also intends to provide a platform for the innovations for benchmarking in the telecom industry and a wider forum for strategic networking, alliances and partnership building.
Last year, 38 entries were awarded while 481 nominations came from South Asia. Eleven out of 73 nominations from Bangladesh were awarded.
