Housewife murdered

A housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her neighbours at Narottam village in Begumganj upazila yesterday. The deceased was identified as Fatema Akhter, 55, wife of late Nur Islam of the village. Locals said, Mithu and Shiplu, two sons of Shafiq Ullah, were hurling brick chips at a plum tree on Monday afternoon. As the stones were falling on the roof of the tin-shed house of Nur Islam, Fatema asked them to stop it. At this, Mithu and Shiplu got furious and beat up Fatema mercilessly, leaving her critically injured. She was rushed to Noakhali General Hospital where she died yesterday morning.
