“BBC Janala Mojay Mojay Shekha” coming soon
From Saturday, March 10, “BBC Janala Mojay Mojay Shekha” (Series 2) will be aired on BTV and BTV World, says a press release. The 1st series was aired last year, following the drama series “Bishshash”. The show gained huge popularity, as people across the country had the opportunity to learn English through fun and games. The 2nd series will continue this trend.
“BBC Janala Mojay Mojay Shekha” (Series 2) brings a 16-part game show, with a new look, style and pace. The show is packed with actor-led comedy sketches; short, location-based dramas and onscreen graphic-based video inserts. The show revolves around two teams -- of four contestants (from all over the country) -- who compete to win points, and play a fun, learning based game. The show aims to motivate audiences to learn English through fun. Episodes present and practise language from chapters of the course, also available on other platforms.
Produced by the BBC Media Action, the game show -- “BBC Janala Mojay Mojay Shekha” -- will be broadcast on BTV and BTV World, every Saturday at 7:20 pm, and then repeated twice a week on Mondays at 8:35 am and on Wednesdays at 2:15 pm.
“BBC Janala” is part of English in Action, a major initiative launched to raise the language skills of 25 million people in Bangladesh by 2017 by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), funded by Ukaid. Besides the show, “BBC Janala” lessons will continue to be available in the Prothom Alo newspaper. Already, three audio CDs containing the popular 'Essential English' and 'English for Work' lessons have been released. “BBC Janala English Learning Book” has also been published. “BBC Janala” lessons can be found by dialling 3000 on mobile phones, on the website www.bbcjanala.com and within the programme on the Bangladesh Television “BBC Janala Mojay Mojay Shekha” (Series 2).
