AMCH gets Tk 25 lakh as donations
The family of one Intezar Ahmed has donated Tk 25 lakh to Ahsania Mission Cancer Hospital (AMCH) at Uttara in the city, says a press release.
Out of this amount, Tk 10 lakh will be spent for a two-bed cabin and income from the rest Tk 15 lakh, which will be kept as fixed deposit in the bank, will be spent for the treatment of poor cancer patients.
The two-bed cabin will be named after Intezar's parents Saburun Nessa and Abu Nasser Ahmed.
To this end, Intezar Ahmed on behalf of his family handed over a cheque for Tk 25 lakh to Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) President Kazi Rafiqul Alam at a ceremony at the Mission Bhaban in the city yesterday.
Kamar Jabin, Ruhi Islam and Mahjabeen Kamal of the family and Mission officials were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Rafiqul Alam said for timely completion of the hospital Tk 200 crore is needed.
He appealed to the well-to-do of the society to come forward for the cause of the poor and helpless people and help complete the hospital in time adding that there is provision for tax exemption against donation to AMCH.
