Dhaka Festival begins today
A two-day 'Dhaka Festival-2008' in celebration of the 120th birth anniversary of Shree Shree Thakur Anukul Chandra begins at KL Jubilee School and College premises at Banglabazar in the city today.
The programme was announced at a press conference at the Dhaka Reporter's Unity auditorium. The programme will be held under the aegis of Satsangha, Dhaka.
The two-day programme includes holding of seminars, prayers, workers conference, religious meeting, special musical show and a procession from city's Victoria Park to National Press Club.
The organisers said there are over three thousand Satsangha centres across the world including Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Europe, Africa, Canada, Australia and USA.
Former director general of Bangla Academy Dr Ashraf Siddiqui, Birendra Shekhar Sharma, Subrata Aditya, Gopal Bhadra, Dr Radhakrishna Lal and Dhiren Pal also spoke on the occasion.
